Hugh “Skip” McGee III
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Prior to co-founding Intrepid in May 2015, Skip served as a member of the Barclays Group Executive Committee and CEO of Barclays, Americas responsible for its Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Credit Card and Wealth & Investment Management businesses in the region. Prior to that, he held a number of senior leadership positions at Barclays including CEO of Corporate and Investment Banking, Americas and Chairman and Head of the Global Investment Banking Division. At the time of his promotion to CEO of Corporate and Investment Banking Americas, Skip was the longest serving Head of an Investment Banking Division across Wall Street. He joined Barclays in September 2008 when he negotiated the move of 10,000 former Lehman employees over to Barclays after the bankruptcy of Lehman.
Prior to Barclays, Skip was a senior executive at Lehman, where he spent the majority of his career. At Lehman, he was a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee and most recently Head of the Global Investment Banking Division from 2002-2008 after running the highly successful Global Natural Resources and Power franchises. Skip joined Lehman in 1993 after six years at First Boston and Wasserstein Perella.
Skip has over 30 years of experience and has been involved in many landmark transactions, including Energy Transfer’s announced $38 billion acquisition of Williams, Kinder Morgan’s $21 billion acquisition of El Paso Energy, BHP Billiton’s $15 billion acquisition of Petrohawk, Verizon’s $135 billion acquisition of its remaining stake in Verizon Wireless from Vodafone, Exxon Mobil’s $41 billion acquisition of XTO Energy, Kerr-McGee’s $18 billion sale to Anadarko, Pfizer’s $68 billion acquisition of Wyeth, and the Williams Companies’ $3 billion financial restructuring.
Skip graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in civil engineering and received a J.D. degree with honors from the University of Texas School of Law. He is a Lifetime Member of the Advisory Council of McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and sits on the Advisory Council for the Bendheim Center for Finance at Princeton University.
Co-Founder, President & Chief Operating Officer
Christopher Winchenbaugh is co-Founder and President & Chief Operating Officer of Intrepid Financial Partners. Chris is based in New York.
Chris is a seasoned executive with nearly 20 years of experience in Investment Banking. He combines significant markets expertise with deep operational and management expertise and experience.
Prior to co-founding Intrepid in 2015, Chris served as COO of Barclays, Americas from 2013 to his departure, and COO of Barclays’ Global Investment Banking Division from 2011 until 2013. While at Barclays, he was a member of the Investment Banking Executive Committee, the Americas Management Committee, and the Senior Leadership Group, which consisted of the top 150 employees globally.
Prior to assuming executive COO roles, Chris held a number of senior capital markets positions at Barclays. He was most recently head of all product origination groups in the Americas from 2010 to 2011, which included Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Hybrid Capital, Fixed Income and Equity Derivatives, Securitization, Loans, Restructuring, Private Placements and Project Finance. Before that role he was Head of Debt Capital Markets, Americas from 2008 to 2010, which also included Securitization and Project Finance.
Before joining Barclays, Chris had spent his entire career at Lehman Brothers, where he was most recently Head of Global Debt Capital Markets from 2006 to 2008, and Head of US Debt Capital Markets from 2005 to 2006. During his tenure at Lehman, Chris also ran the Convertible Origination business from 2003 to 2005, and was a senior member of the Debt Capital Markets business from 1996 until 2003 where he covered Power, Natural Resources and Telecom/Media/Technology.
Over his career, Chris has worked directly on over $75 billion of capital raising transactions, and has run businesses that combined have raised over $1 trillion of capital across Debt, Equity and Loans, in addition to billions of dollars of derivatives.
At both Lehman and Barclays, Chris either ran or participated in the Investment Banking Commitment Committee and Loan Participation Committee which were responsible for evaluating all capital markets and loan transactions within the investment banking division. While at both firms he spearheaded the recruiting effort at Kellogg and was instrumental in establishing mentorship programs within investment banking.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Holy Cross and an MBA degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Matthew Barton is a Vice President at Intrepid Financial Partners. Matt is based in Houston.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Matt was an Associate in Deutsche Bank’s Natural Resources Group in Houston. During his tenure at Deutsche Bank, Matt worked on a variety of financing and merger & acquisition transactions with a focus in the oil and gas industry. From 2007 – 2010, Matt was a manager in Accenture’s management consulting practice. At Accenture, he was responsible for providing strategic guidance to both domestic and international clients across the energy, transportation and construction industries in order to help optimize their ability to organize and analyze financial and operational data.
He holds an M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia and a B.B.A. in Finance, cum laude, from the University of Georgia.
Robert Cabes is a Managing Director at Intrepid Financial Partners and head of its investing business. Robert is based in Houston.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Robert was a Managing Director at White Deer Energy, responsible for making private equity energy investments. Before that, Robert had similar responsibilities as a Partner at Avista Capital Partners and as a Principal at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners. Earlier in his career, Robert was an investment banker at both Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Prudential Securities where he led numerous strategic and financing transactions for energy clients.
Robert is a former Director of several private and public energy companies including Copano Energy, Eco-Stim Energy Solutions, Hi-Crush Partners, Laramie Energy, Laredo Energy, Manti Exploration, Ultra Tech Frac Services and two unconventional oil and gas development joint ventures with Carrizo Oil and Gas.
Robert is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University.
Neil Chen is a Vice President at Intrepid Financial Partners. Neil is based in New York.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Neil held a variety of roles at Barclays. Most recently, he served as the Chief of Staff to the CEO (Americas), where he helped manage the Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Credit Card and Wealth & Investment Management businesses in the region. He was involved with all aspects of the business including corporate development, strategy, investments, client development and strategic partnerships.
Prior to that, he was an Investment Banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at both Barclays and Lehman Brothers, responsible for the execution of a number of strategic and financing transactions.
Neil holds a B.A. with honors from Princeton University.
Prior to joining Intrepid, David was Senior Vice President, Energy Investment Banking at Jefferies LLC in Houston, and before that an Associate, Energy Investment Banking at Wells Fargo Securities, LLC in Houston. While at Jefferies and Wells Fargo, David advised on nearly $30 billion in asset acquisitions & divestitures, corporate mergers & acquisitions, and public and private debt and equity and bank financings. His transaction experience covered domestic and international clients across the upstream, LNG, oilfield services and midstream sectors, with focus on unconventional onshore assets across North America. Prior to his career in investment banking, David worked in both the real estate development and manufacturing industries.
David received an M.B.A. from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University and a B.S. with High Honors in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Carter Glatt is an Analyst at Intrepid Financial Partners. Carter is based in New York.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Carter was an investment banking Analyst at Barclays Capital. During his tenure at Barclays, Carter participated in a variety of M&A, Advisory and capital markets transactions.

Matthew Hart is a Managing Director at Intrepid Financial Partners. Matt is based in New York.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Matt was a senior member of the Restructuring group at Lazard, a partner in the distressed investment funds of Eos Partners, and a proprietary investment analyst in Merrill Lynch’s principal investments area, where he focused primarily on distressed and credit investment opportunities. He began his career as an analyst and trader in the mortgage- and asset-backed securitization markets.
Matt has over 17 years of experience in the capital markets, primarily in the areas of capital structure advisory and turnaround investing. He has advised companies, creditors and investors in connection with numerous restructurings, recapitalizations and asset sales, and also invested in dozens of such situations as a principal.
Matt is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA). He is a member of the CFA Institute, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Turnaround Management Association, the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors, and the New York Society of Securities Analysts.
He holds an M.B.A. in Finance & Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an A.B. in Economics from the University of Michigan.
Samuel Heller is an Associate at Intrepid Financial Partners. Sam is based in Houston.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Sam was an investment banking Associate Director in the Global Energy Group at UBS Securities in Houston. At UBS, he worked on a variety of capital markets and merger & acquisition transactions, with a focus on the midstream and upstream sectors. Prior to UBS, he was an Associate in the Valuation & Financial Opinions Group at Stout Risius Ross, where he focused on upstream business valuation, fairness opinions, and financial reporting. Before his time at Stout Risius Ross, he managed the property tax department for Stallion Oilfield Services and was a tax consultant at Ryan & Company.

Brian Hensley is an Associate at Intrepid Financial Partners and is based in Houston.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Brian was a Vice President in the Upstream Energy Capital Group at Macquarie, where he participated in the analysis, structuring, documentation and monitoring of stretch senior, 2nd lien and mezzanine investments in the upstream oil and gas sector. Prior to Macquarie, Brian worked as an energy focused merchant banking analyst at Parkman Whaling LLC and a credit analyst at Bank of America in the gaming and leisure corporate debt products group.

Adam Hurley is a Vice President at Intrepid Financial Partners. Adam is based in Houston.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Adam was an investment banking Associate in the Global Natural Resources Group at Goldman Sachs in Houston. At Goldman Sachs, he worked on a variety of capital markets and merger & acquisition transactions in the oil and gas industry. Prior to his career in banking, Adam served in the U.S. Army as a Special Forces Team Leader in 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and an infantry officer in 3rd Infantry Division.

August Kehn is an Associate at Intrepid Financial Partners and is based in Houston.
Prior to joining Intrepid, August was an Associate in Morgan Stanley’s Natural Resources Group in Houston. During his tenure at Morgan Stanley, August worked on a variety of financing and merger & acquisition transactions with a focus in the oil & gas industry. Prior to Enersciences, Andrew was a Senior Investment Analyst at OMERS Strategic Investments in their global airport infrastructure fund. Andrew started his career as a financial analyst with Guggenheim Partners focusing on direct equity and mezzanine investments across the energy sectors.

David Litvack is a Vice President at Intrepid Financial Partners. David is based in New York.
Prior to joining Intrepid, David was a Senior Associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and before that, an Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. During his tenure at Milbank and Weil, he represented and advised companies, creditors, investors, and other interested parties in numerous restructuring situations. David has extensive industry experience in oil and gas, banking, and industrials.
David holds a J.D. from Fordham Law School, cum laude, and a B.B.A. in Finance, magna cum laude, from Hofstra University. He is admitted as a member of the bars of the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Benjamin Messier is an Associate at Intrepid Financial Partners. Ben is based in Houston.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Ben was an Associate in the Oil & Gas Investment Banking group at Credit Suisse, where he participated in the advisory of buy side acquisitions, asset sales, reversionary drilling funds, and various debt and equity offerings. Prior to his tenure at Credit Suisse, Ben worked in Treasury at Atwood Oceanics, a global offshore drilling company, and Ubiquity Retirement + Savings, where he advised small business owners on the administration and fund selection of their companies’ 401(k) plans.

R. Adam Miller
Adam Miller is a Managing Director at Intrepid Financial Partners. Adam is based in Houston.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Adam was Senior Vice President of Finance for Juneau Energy, an upstream portfolio company of Leucadia National Corporation (NYSE: LUK) and a Vice President of Jefferies Capital Partners, an affiliate of Jefferies LLC, where he focused on upstream investments. He began his career as an investment banking analyst with Petrie Parkman and later served as an associate with Jefferies LLC.
During his time with Juneau (Leucadia) and Jefferies, Adam actively participated in investment activities including evaluating investment opportunities, due diligence, transaction structuring and execution, portfolio monitoring and investment exits. Additionally, he worked closely with portfolio companies, serving on the board of multiple investments, and provided guidance on such activities as key financing events, hedging strategies, evaluating and executing merger, acquisition and divestiture opportunities and helping to refine strategies to drive long-term growth and value.
He holds an M.B.A. and B.S.B.A. in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis.
Henry Newton is a Vice President at Intrepid Financial Partners. Henry is based in Houston.

Prior to joining Intrepid, Vivian was a Registered Client Associate at Merrill Lynch. She focused her efforts on client services within the wealth management advisory and private banking platforms of both Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse. She began her career as an intern with the Global Wealth Management division at Merrill Lynch.

Jane Roche serves as Chief Administrative Officer of Intrepid Financial Partners. Jane is based in New York.
Prior to joining Intrepid, Jane supported the Office of the CEO, Americas at Barclays. Before her tenure at Barclays, Jane spent ten years at McKinsey & Company in a variety of roles in both Boston and New York. Additionally, she was an early employee of Amazon.com, serving as Manager of Internal Communications.
