Robert G. "Bob" Phillips
FOUNDER, CHAIRMAN, AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Crestwood Equity Partners LPRobert G. "Bob" Phillips, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Crestwood Equity Partners LP (NYSE:CEQP), retired on November 3, 2023 with the completion of its merger with Energy Transfer LP (NYSE:ET). Mr. Phillips founded CEQP in October 2010 which grew to $7.1 billion enterprise value prior to the merger with Energy Transfer. He is currently a corporate director of South Bow Corporation (NYSE:SOBO), the recent spin-off from TC Energy, which transports Canadian crude oil production to refining markets in the US Midwest and Gulf Coast. Additionally, Mr. Phillips serves as an independent director of Enstor Inc., the largest privately owned natural gas storage company in the US, owned by Infrastructure Investments Fund, a $40 BB diversified global infrastructure fund.
Mr. Phillips has more than 47 years’ experience in the energy industry. Prior to forming Crestwood, Mr. Phillips served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Products Partners L.P. (NYSE:EPD), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GulfTerra Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE:GTM) fka El Paso Energy Partners LP, and as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Eastex Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ETEX). Mr. Phillips has previously served as an independent director of Pride International, Inc. and Bonavista Energy Corporation. Prior to the merger with Energy Transfer, Mr. Phillips served on the board of directors of the Energy Infrastructure Council, where he co-chaired the ESG Committee which focused on the development and implementation of industry-wide Sustainability Standards across the midstream sector. In 2020, Mr. Phillips was elected to the CEO Hall of Fame by Alerian ETF Ammy awards, recognizing excellence, leadership and innovation across the North American Energy Sector. From 2021 to 2023, Mr. Phillips served on the National Petroleum Council (NPC) which advises the United States Department of Energy on oil and gas related matters. In 2022, Mr. Phillips was awarded Institutional Investor All-America Executive Team Rankings – Small Cap Energy #1 Best CEO. Mr. Phillips has been a frequent contributor to CNBC and FOX Business News.
Mr. Phillips holds a B.B.A from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law. He resides in Houston with his wife Elizabeth. They are the proud parents and grandparents of 8 children and 15 grandchildren.
